To Stephen:
Thanks for pointing out “The Comprachicos". I googled it and have been having a good time reading all about it. I'm going to let the reviews sink in and then tackle the essay itself. In the meantime, I am going to make sure my contacts who are focused on school boards and such are aware of it. Thanks again.

I'm not angry, yet, because some information is missing. How often do people who are on parole for using false ID get busted for using a false name in a non-monetary situation and what is the normal penalty for that? Is his penalty for using a false name under those circumstances outrageous or in line with normal penalties for same?

"It’s almost as if schools, the press, and the entertainment media have been inspired by Gramsci and Alinsky for the past 40 years or so..."

Posed as a question, there are interesting answers to this to be found in Ayn Rand's non-fiction title "The New Left - The Anti-industrial Revolution." Particularly the essay titled "The Comprachicos."

I think the problem is very, very basic. Too many Americans (in name only) have turned their backs on the Declaration of Independence. They are utterly ignorant of Natural Rights. It's almost as if schools, the press, and the entertainment media have been inspired by Gramsci and Alinsky for the past 40 years or so; instead of being centered on Locke, Madison, Lincoln, et al.

Until the civic milieu is again predicated on "We hold these truth to be self-evident" we are doomed to chasing each our own tails while the nearest opportunistic tyranny gleefully takes over.

Nope. The petitions were a fun little diversion that will ultimately come to naught.

This is about the black market, the grey market. Living your transactional life such that the government gets as little money as possible. It's the bugging in version of going Galt. It's an economy parallel to but separate from the one the various agencies track.

And it's about the fact that it's prevalent enough that there's a word for it, and places on the internet where people can learn about it and presumably engage in it.

I find that sort of thing terribly interesting.
